Here is my comprehensive review of the Weir team: Context: My wife and I sold and purchased with the Weir team. We chose them because we had previously noted a house that they had sold in our neighborhood about 4 years ago and did an exceptional job. When it was our time to sell, we sought them out. A good realtor must be timely and responsive, have good knowledge of the market such that they can provide valuable input during decision making and communicate effectively. The Weir team hits all of the above metrics (see below). Selling: Given modern online apps/websites you are more empowered as a seller/buyer today then ever before. With a few clicks you can easily find out what ‘comps’ are selling for to have a good barometer of the value of your home. Despite all of this, I believe Cam provided us with confident and decisive information as to the value of our home and beyond same, the right time to sell. Our first contact to the date of showings was about 4 weeks and given the rapid pace with which we were moving we needed a team that communicated clearly, provided a good timeline of events and outlined our and their responsibilities. Their team of designers and handymen offered excellent contributions to make our home look top class. Their photographer and videographer killed their respective roles. Their entire social media/advertising platform is a sign that these realtors are clearly a class above other brokerages. I can confidently say I do not think any other team could have better prepared our home and ultimately retrieved a greater selling price. Moreover, we truly felt that the Weir team was as invested in this process as we were. It felt like a trusted family member was selling our home. Clearly, these guys have sold thousands of homes and know this process inside and out. Buying: The reality for most modern buyers is that you’re scouring MLS or other related apps for new listings and not so much relying on your realtor. This was our situation. The Toronto market kind of demands it. However, the Weir team was readily available to take us to any showings at pretty much any time we requested. They provided good value add upon entering the home and did not simply stand by while we the buyers viewed same. They pointed out deficiencies, flaws and what I really liked the most, recognized when a property/showing was a waste of our time. Cam in particular will not let you overspend and he has a great sense of what properties are worth and what it takes to actually win. When you’re buying you need someone experienced to tell you this is a good move and provide knowledgeable support. The Weir team can provide this. I feel sorry for people using realtors that really have no sense of what are good or attractive neighborhoods. Every Weir team member we interacted with was excellent. Scott was meticulous. Fuji and Paul were patient and insightful. Chris was a friendly helping hand. All these guys are excellent realtors in their own right. Hiring the Weir team is an excellent decision. They will deliver results in a kind and timely fashion. There are a number of other intangibles that I haven’t specifically laid out here such as providing moving boxes, coming and watering the backyard in the week before showings and addressing other unexpected concerns. They are a full-service brokerage with deep connections to contractors, accommodations and other solutions. They are undoubtedly a cut above the rest of these dime a-dozen losers. This team gets s*** done.
